Huge Participation Expected for Great Woodhaven Yard Sale

This Saturday, the Woodhaven Residents' Block Association will host a community-wide yard sale—a coordinated day when homes across Woodhaven can all hold yard sales at the same time—and more than 80 households have already signed up as participants.

This second annual Great Woodhaven Yard Sale will occur on Saturday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Participation is totally free.  The WRBA has created a map showing the locations of all participating households (no exact addresses, only locations), which will be distributed to shoppers.  The map is attached.

Last year's Great Woodhaven Yard Sale saw more than 60 households setting up shop.  Buyers came from all over the city and beyond to check out the sales across Woodhaven.

"The Great Woodhaven Yard Sale is back by popular demand," said WRBA Director Vance Barbour.  "Last year was a lot of fun as many Woodhaven residents found new homes for items they no longer wanted and bargain-hunters found great deals.  It's no surprise participation has grown so much."

Part of what made last year's event so sucessful is that it united typically isolated events into a full-neighborhood happening, while maximizing both buyer and seller interest.

A handy, printer-ready version of the map is available at (no period at the end).
